We are a trauma and violence informed organization, supporting women and children impacted by violence and abuse in Huron County; our services include a 24-hour help line and emergency shelter, support for women to navigate complex systems and advocate for themselves, counselling services and healing programs, family court support and three second stage housing facilities across the county. We serve over 200 families a year who have experienced abuse and live in Huron County.
We are uniquely positioned to support cross-sectoral collaboration and focused on creating healthy relationships with our community partners and neighbours. We believe the health of our community depends on women and girls stepping fully into their leadership; and we actively work to challenge the systems, beliefs and cultural values that perpetuate gender-based violence and oppression. We also believe it takes a village, and we want every community member, no matter gender, sex, ability, socio-economic status, religious or ethnic identities, to come along side our organization as allies for social justice.
